MTV News Miami Week Showcases Emerging New Artists

Miami, FL – It has been stated once and then repeatedly over the course of several years, Miami is officially a breeding ground for talented artists on the rise making their claim to fame by any means necessary. It seems as though their hustle and their grind have finally gotten them critical acclaim and nationwide notice. MTV News alongside heavyweight artists have officially showcased Miami’s new class of emerging artists. Artists that include: Brisco, Billy Blue, Ballgreezy, Gunplay, and Iceberg have been dubbed the new class of MCs reigning from the city that never sleeps.

Brisco
Dubbed the ‘Opa Locka Goon,’ he is considered a rising star in the Miami city limits. His name has been circulated as a hood icon for quite some time now as his dedicated fans anticipate the arrival of his debut album ‘Street Medicine.’ With Poe Boy backing him 100%, there is no stopping his reign. The world better prepare for the arrival of the ‘Opa Locka Goon.’
Brisco portrays much confidence as we draw close to the release of his debut album:
“I’m sharp and I’m ready, the caliber of music we’re doing is speaking for itself. I’m portraying something I really lived.”
Billy Blue
Many would consider this artist meant for superstar status as he is dubbed the million dollar man with 36 reasons to prove it so. Billy Blue has taken the road less traveled and made his beginnings with the infamous Poe Boy Music Group alongside Brisco. He is officially signed under joint contracts with Mosley Music and KonLive through Interscope.
Recently Blue explained to the fans what his debut album entitled ‘The Story of My Life’ will include and what to expect:
“It’s about being you. Spitting what you lived, telling people, ‘I’m just like you. I’m an ordinary nigga, had a 9-to-5. I sold drugs, went to jail, been on parole, [have] fucked up baby mamas. I been through it like everybody in the world been through it. This world is ours. Let’s make it happen.”
Ballgreezy
‘Mr. Shone’ himself has been on a warpath pushing his music to different heights moving his career forward into the next level, his quickness in rising to fame is almost close to immaculate. With Iconz Music backing him on all his endeavors, the unsigned hype is still making a name of himself all over the city limits and beyond. The once ‘Ball Grim,’ is now the infamous Ballgreezy. Look out for this artist in the upcoming months.
Greezy added his own comments about the slew of artists that flock the city limits showcasing that Miami is full of untapped talent:
“Everybody got their own circle, the big dogs, but down here, we got our own circle too. You’re standing with the best. Dade County. We’re beating down the streets. If you ain’t hearing Brisc, you hearing [Ice] Berg. If you ain’t hearing Berg, you hearing [Billy] Blue. If you ain’t hearing Blue, you hearing Ball. You hearing somebody. We’re doing it.”
Carol City Cartel’s Gunplay
GP came blasting onto the scene with set of his own guns as Rick Ross’ ‘Deeper than Rap’ included a track entitled by his namesake. On that track he made his presence extremely felt as the introduction was quite necessary. The Big Boss himself co-signs Gunplay as the original Carol City Cartel member next to that of his brethrens Torch and newcomer Young Breed. MTV calls him the Fire starter that is on a collision course for greatness.
Gunplay paid homage to the Boss for laying out the path for him to take to be where he is today and tomorrow:
“I’m emulating the great, I’m watching all his moves. I took notes. Three years in this game now, I’m seeing exactly how to be a boss from behind the scenes. Naturally, that’s just gonna be what I’m gonna be. It’s gonna come natural.”
Iceberg
The son of Miami has been making a name of himself since a young age. The name Iceberg is synonymous with that of the Dunk Ryders and his claim to fame came with the group especially with the assistance from Trick Daddy. He is the self-acclaimed livest artist within his city limits. Berg has been co-signed by particularly every heavyweight artist amongst the industry. Co-creator of the hit anthem ‘Fuck the Other Side,’ a collection of street hits have emerged after that certified banger became a nationwide success.
Berg until this day speaks very highly of his mentor, Trick Daddy, especially the work ethic that he puts into his music. He added his own comments about the Mayor of Miami:
“With him, its pressure, that’s the big homie. He’s gonna put a lot of pressure on you, whether you’re in the studio or not. I love him to death, though. I’ve been around him three or four years now. You still get the heebie-jeebies working with him, but that’s him. He’s the legend.”
Miami’s new class has emerged over the years and will continue to carry the torch for the city that never sleeps. You need to definitely look out for these artists as they are ticking time bombs on the verge of international stardom. Their debut albums will be released shortly to progress their career further into the future.
